Previous OG system issues

  1. Heavy flame coming out near converter mouth during blowing period.
  2. Lot of fumes going outside in atmosphere, a cause of concern.
  3. During blowing time lot of fumes coming on each platform of high span building, of Converter
  4. Lot of dust accumulates in ID fan impellers, which require regular cleaning manually after taking shutdown.
  5. Unable to run ID fan continuously even at 2400rpm as after sometimes the vibration is getting increased due to dust accumulation on impeller.
  6. Fan condition: Max.speed 2400 rpm, otherwise fan would be getting much vibration, also impeller need clean max. 6-7 days after running.

OG system retrofitting performance

  1. No red fumes and dust visible near converter mouth and outside High-span building at ID Fan speed of 2400 rpm;
  2. Reduce ID fan cleaning frequency from within 6-7 days of running extend to max.once within 30days;
  3. No red fume near converter during the ID fan speed of 2400 rpm and at ID Fan speed between 2100 to 2300 rpm;
  4. The dust concentration of the discharge tower is controlled <= 10mg/Nm3.
